JavaScript dominates — and the front-end is React-first
More than half of all Moldovan IT companies (349 of 638) work with JavaScript, making it the single most common technology in the country. On the front end, React (185 companies) is well ahead of Angular (106), and TypeScript adoption is strong at 140 companies — a sign that Moldovan teams are keeping pace with modern JavaScript practices rather than relying on legacy code.
PHP and Python are still everywhere
PHP remains the second most-used language (265 companies). That reflects a large base of web agencies building on WordPress, Laravel, and custom PHP platforms — a practical, cost-effective choice for the small-and-medium business projects that make up much of Moldova's export work.
